Aidan is a passionate live music lover, Artist Manager and Festival Director based in Melbourne, Victoria. He currently manages REMI, Timberwolf and Mike Waters, and is Co-Director of The Hills Are Alive, NYE On the Hill and UNIFY music festivals.
Alex helms Australia’s leading music and entertainment specialist digital agency, Bolster, alongside fraternal co-director Anthony. Named by B&T as one of 2017’s 30 Under 30 Entrepreneurs, Alex is also the founder of socially-geared apps including Linktree, Buzz and Addify. Bolster works across digital strategy, media buying, advertising, social media, content, communication design, art direction and web development for brands such as Splendour In The Grass, Laneway Festival, Groovin The Moo, Chugg Entertainment and a heap more.
Business and Life Coach
Amanda Ashton is a Neuro Linguistic Programing Master Practitioner and Life Coach. With 10 years’ experience and over 2000 coaching hours she has worked in a variety of fields including business coaching, family dynamics, relationships, sexuality and addictions to name a few. Amanda's current focus is working in her private practise specialising in developing people’s relationships with themselves. She is passionate about people and their growth and loves helping them build their courage, competence and confidence.
Co-Director, Penney and Logan PR/Management
Carolyn has worked in the arts industry for over 30 years across most art genres as a manager, marketer, publicist and producer. As co-director of Penney and Logan – an artist and event management and publicity company with a social media arm specialising in Facebook Management and advertising – she has overseen publicity for a wide range of festivals, events, albums and live music tours as well as producing larger scale musical events on behalf of artists. Recent and current publicity clients include Queenscliff Music Festival, Port Fairy Folk Music Festival, Brunswick Music Festival, Sinead O Connor, Lloyd Cole, The Blackeyed Susans, Jordie Lane and Ruby Boots amongst many more.
Director, Little Giant Agency
Danae Effern is the director of Melbourne-based Little Giant Agency, a PR and management agency working with the likes of Press Club, The Smith Street Band, Davey Lane, The Teskey Brothers, The Bennies and Screamfeeder. Little Giant Agency works with Australian and international artists on release and touring projects as well as events such Melbourne’s music industry conference, Face The Music.
Licensee and Co–owner Bar Open, The Tote
Jon has been heavily involved in the Melbourne music community for decades. He’s the current licensee and co-owner of live music venues, Bar Open and The Tote Hotel and, former licensee and co-owner of Pony, Yah Yah’s, Melbourne Spanish Club and The Marquis of Lorne Hotel. At Bar Open Jon worked as Band Booker from he’s initial involvement in 1997 through until 2004. His current involvements include being the music industry representative on the EPA reform advisory group for SEPP N1 and N2 and the current Representative (MV and FG4LM) on The Victoria State Government Live Music Round Table.
PR & Digital Content Consultant
Kate is a communications and digital content specialist with over 10-years’ experience who's held senior roles with Remote Control Records, Roadrunner Records, UNFD and Laneway Festival Singapore. She's currently freelancing in PR, brand management and social media with clients including Deathproof PR, Milk! Records and ABC Radio. Locally, she's work with some of our biggest touring and recording acts including Birds of Tokyo, Xavier Rudd, Illy, Seth Sentry, The Amity Affliction and Josh Pyke. She's also a published travel writer and is a big advocate for regional touring.
Band Booker, Groovin’ The Moo
Until recently, Rich booked many Melbourne venues including: Punters Club, Corner Hotel, Evelyn Hotel, Public Bar, Northcote Social Club, East Brunswick Club, Shebeen, 170 Russell and Newtown Social Club (NSW). In the early 2000s, he started booking and programming festivals, including St Kilda Festival, Queenscliff, Falls, Southbound, Pushover, Groovin’ the Moo, Parklife, West Coast Blues & Roots, Northwest Festival, Splendour and The Plot. Richard also founded Way Over There, an artist-run record label, hosted a Triple R drive-time radio show and arranged music, sorted publishing and booked bands to appear on Channel Nine's, Mick Molloy Show.
Music & Marketing Manager, The Corner Group
Sally has worked in music venues in QLD and VIC for over 10 years and has made herself very much at home at The Corner Group since 2010. Formally the General Manager of Ticketscout (a boutique ticketing agency that looked after 12 venues nationally) she is now Music & Marketing Manager for Melbourne music icons Corner Hotel and Northcote Social Club and oversees the booking, marketing, logistics and events for the group’s venues. When she is not whipping up kickass marketing plans, you can generally find her somewhere warm with the music turned up and a wine in hand.
Karova Lounge/From The Apple Tree
Shaun got his start touring Australia as a sound engineer and tour manger and from there went on to work with several live music venues. While Shaun is most renowned for his work in regional areas (particularly programming Karova Lounge in Ballarat) he’s also helped manage a number of high profile acts and promoted numerous events with acts including Powderfinger, Silverchair and John Butler Trio. Shaun also worked on Straight To You, Triple J’s tribute to Nick Cave, and most recently brought Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds to Ballarat in one of the largest-scale, live music events held in regional Victoria in over several years. Shaun has also worked for festivals such as Meredith Music Festival and Falls Festival.
Sophie started out in music as a teenage, community radio graveyard announcer on 3CR and spent many years announcing and serving time on the board of management at PBS FM. She left behind a career in the community sector to become a freelance music journalist and had many happy years of writing about music for The Age, Rhythms and Rolling Stone amongst others. Since 2006, Sophie has run Mistletone — a successful indie label, touring company, booking agency and publicity firm — alongside her husband, Ash Miles. Mistletone’s touring roster includes Beach House, Ariel Pink, Kurt Vile, Parquet Courts, Toro y Moi, Perfume Genius and many more.
