This year’s NAIDOC theme is Heal Country! This week we’re delving into how music can heal country.

Over on Instagram each day at midday, our Project Coordinator Kiwat Kennell will be hosting a fifteen-minute chat with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples about their careers in music and discussing how music can heal country.

We’ve made our Music Victoria Essentials Membership (valued at $77) FREE to First Nations People throughout NAIDOC week (July 4 to 11). This membership allows you to nominate for the Music Victoria Awards for free! Simply sign up here and use the discount code NAIDOC21 at checkout.

This is a great time to nominate your favourite emerging First Nation’s act for the Archie Roach Foundation Award for Emerging Talent (for First Nations acts). The award has a $3,000 cash prize sponsored by the Archie Roach Foundation.

Our weekly Spotify playlist celebrates the music of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples based in Victoria. Listen and follow the playlist here.

Get involved in Music Victoria’s NAIDOC Week activities and celebrate the rich history, diverse cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
