Best Practice Guidelines
These guidelines provide information for venue operators who are planning to host, or already host, live music at their venue. Topics covered by the guidelines include managing sound to maintain a positive relationship with neighbours, providing a safe environment for patrons, staff and musicians to enjoy the live music experience, and building constructive working relationships with musicians.
The guidelines provide advice on achieving ‘best practice’ as a live music venue operator.
Have you got an upcoming release, gig or livestream that you’d like to share? At Music Victoria, we love to celebrate and promote the successes of our members! Every week, we spotlight a member on socials for #MusicVictoriaMemberMoment. For the chance to be featured, fill out our form below.

Music Victoria Awards
The Music Victoria Awards (previously known as The Age Music Victoria Awards) are an annual Awards program celebrating Victorian music.
You must be a paid Music Victoria member to be on the longlist or to nominate your favourite music act, venue, festival, producer or woman in music.
Each paid membership (starting at $77 or $33 concession) allows one nomination per team member, with higher-tiered memberships able to submit multiple nominations (as they have more team members associated with their membership fee).
Nominations have closed for the 2021 Music Victoria Awards.
