ABC Goulburn Murray

ABC Goulburn Murray

ABC Goulburn Murray first went to air on 16 December 1931 as 2CO with an opening concert broadcast from Corowa. At the time the station's transmitter on the banks of the Murray River was the most powerful radio transmitter in the Southern Hemisphere. Although ABC Goulburn Murray began as a relay station of national programs, coverage of local events was deemed important from the outset and grew steadily over the years. Since its inception, it has played a pivotal role in the provision of news and information to thousands of people living in the Riverina and North Eastern Victoria.
