"Merri" means rock in Woiwurrung, the language of the Wurundjeri-willam, the Traditional Owners of the country where we are based. They call the waterway Merri Merri meaning "very rocky" and this was shortened by later invaders and settlers to Merri Creek. The Merri Creek Tavern is a boutique music venue and local watering-hole, a casual and welcoming space that respects the diversity of all in our community and beyond.
