From its humble beginnings as sister touring, bookings, and management company Wild Thing Presents, propelling the early days of the burgeoning modern Australian prog scene (since 2012), to its record label inception in 2018 founded by Eli Chamravi, Wild Thing Records has achieved a number of prominent accolades; underlined by Australian ARIA chart positions for the majestic Circles - The Last One, and the brooding Phanerozoic I: Palaeozoic from Germany’s The Ocean.
The label has become a mainstay of the Australian AIR charts, achieving top 4 ‘100% Independent Album’ status with Circles, Glass Ocean, Acolyte, and The Omnific - whose 2021 release Escapades redefined technical bass performance the world over. Growth’s crushing progressive death metal debut The Smothering Arms of Mercy secured a Music Victoria Award nomination for ‘Best Heavy Act’ (and a top 10 AIR chart spot), while AlithiA delivered a psychedelic cult classic in The Moon has Fallen. The signing of promising alternative heavy outfit Future Static further encapsulates the large scale vision of the record label.
In 2021, Wild Thing Records ushers in a new era, as part of the establishment of Wild Thing Music Group, encompassing company divisions in management, label, merchandise, and touring. This exciting setup will allow for a full lineup of artist and industry services. In 2022, Wild Thing will accomplish its 10th anniversary, cementing itself as one of the best known names in progressive and alternative music globally.
