As we're all coming out of lockdown, we thought it be best to hear what's going on around in our local area's.

So please, join the City of Port Phillip’s Live Music Lead and Music Victoria's Project Coordinator, Kiwat Kennell , for a chat about the recently implemented Live Music Action Plan.

We'll be discussing recently released programs that support local venues, grants, music events, musicians and the wider industry.

Background:
Business Victoria has opened round two of the Live Performance Support Program (Suppliers). If you were contracted to work on a live performance event that has been postponed or cancelled, we encourage you to apply for this funding. Contracted suppliers include performers, crew, technicians and more.

 

If you’re thinking about applying for the program, this free online information session is for you!

The Victorian government updated this program to assist a wider range of affected event businesses and workers. We’ll go through the program changes, the application process and answer any questions you may have.

Some notable program changes that we’ll cover include:

• possible funding for missed gigs from Lockdown #5 if you missed out on the last round of applications

• explanations around the total support cap of $4000 cap and the $200 -$500 per event cap

• eligibility criteria and deadlines

Business Victoria has opened round two of the Live Performance Support Program (Presenters) for events affected by recent lockdowns and health restrictions. Victorian event presenters, including producers, promoters, venue owners and artists who promote their own shows, are encouraged to apply.

If you’re thinking about applying for the program under the presenter stream, this free online information session is for you.

This session will cover:

• changes from the last round of funding

• program guidelines, including eligibility and how to apply

• funding amounts available ($7000 or $5000 for one event, and a further $5000 for a second event)

• any questions you have.

This free information session is a chance for Central Victoria-based musicians, music sector workers and other creatives to learn more about the Australia Council’s grants program. Over the course of an hour, staff from the Australia Council’s Artists Services team will provide an overview of:

 

This information session will be held on Zoom. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions during the event via the chat function.

The session is being held ahead of the Australia Council's next funding deadline, which is Tuesday 7 September.

This event is presented by the Regional Music Development Program (Mount Alexander Shire, Victoria), which is funded by Creative Victoria and delivered in partnership with Music Victoria and Regional Arts Victoria.
